In October, two new Cēsu alus porter beers are available in stores – Cēsu Premium Baltic porter and Brūža raspberry porter beer. The total investment in the creation of the new flavors reaches 30,000 EUR.
The Cēsu alus brewery traditionally creates special porter beer recipes for the dark evenings of autumn and winter for various beer connoisseurs who are looking for and are ready to taste a darker, murkier and more flavorful beer.
Eva Sietiņsone, chairman of the Cēsu alus board: “Every year we follow the choices of beer connoisseurs and develop both classic porter varieties and experiment with exclusive flavor variations. This year we offer beer connoisseurs two porters – the classic Baltic porter Cēsu Premium Baltic Porter and Brūža beer raspberry porter, to which raspberry juice added during the brewing process creates a unique flavor bouquet.”
Cēsu Premium Baltic Porter – Baltic porter is a unique style of dark beer characteristic of our region. Cēsu Premium Baltic Porter has a characteristic dark copper hue, embellished by a thick foam. Its rich taste and aroma have notes of roasted caramel with a slight hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. Baltic porter differs from traditional English porter in terms of brewing technology – traditionally, top-fermenting yeasts are used in the preparation of porter beer, while bottom-fermenting yeasts are used in the preparation of Baltic porter.

Brūža beer line is supplemented with Brūža beer Raspberry porter – the beer derives its porter flavor strength from various caramel malts, but Golden oat malt gives it additional darkness. Raspberry juice added during the brewing process gives a unique taste and gives the beer an opaque copper color with a red accent.
Porter beer reveals its fullness of aroma and taste at +14°C…+16°C, and it is recommended to enjoy it from a glass.
