The employees of the “Cēsu alus” brewery have planted 2,000 spruce saplings in order to compensate for the amount of paper used during the year for the labels of the “Cēsu Premium” beer glass bottles. The project was implemented in cooperation with the largest full-cycle forest management and wood industry company in Latvia “PATA”, by planting fir trees in the forests owned by the company in the vicinity of Inčukalna.
Spruce saplings will offset the amount of paper used for glass bottle labels of the beer brand “Cēsu Premium” produced in one year. This has already become an annual tradition that the company implements every year. Last year, employees of “Cēsu alus” planted 1,000 spruce saplings in the vicinity of Lādezera, Limbažu county.
Eva Sietiņsone, chairman of the board of “Cēsu alus”: “Together with our cooperation partners – the company “PATA” – we have established such a tradition, and for the second year now, the employees of “Cēsu alus” are going together to plant fir trees. This contributes to the development of environmental awareness of our company’s employees, as well as our overall performance in environmental preservation and sustainability. Last year, we launched the “Better Future” project, where one of the promises was to take care of the preservation of natural resources for the future At the brewery, we work every day to reduce the environmental impact as much as possible and to find new opportunities to be a more environmentally friendly company.
“We are really pleased that more and more companies in Latvia evaluate the impact of their activities on the environment and take measures to reduce it. The company “Cēsu alus” with the initiative “Better Future” is a good example of this. For the second year in a row, we were truly pleased to welcome the employees of “Cēsu alus”, who planted 2,000 Christmas trees in the forests of the “PATA” group this year,” says Elīna Dobulāne, Head of Corporate Relations and Customer Service of the “PATA” group of companies.
