The international competition “World Beer Awards” has ended, in which the beers brewed by the “Cēsu alus” brewery received four awards – “Cēsu Premium” beer was recognized as the “National Winner” in the lager beer category, while three other beers received a silver rating – “Brūža Rudzugrauda” and “Cēsu Premium Green” – in the specialty beer category, “POOKA Apiņots Lägers” – in the lager beer category.
Eva Sietiņsone, chairman of the board of “Cēsu alus”: “This season, “Cēsu alus” offered several novelties, expanding the diversity of the Latvian beer market, and we received a very good evaluation from beer connoisseurs. Thousands of beers from all over the world are applied for the “World Beer Awards” competition, and we are proud that we have received a silver evaluation for our brews. We are especially pleased with “Cēsu Premium” beer, our main brand, which this year experienced big change. Our work on creating a crisp taste has been internationally recognized and recognized as the “National Winner” in the lager beer category.”

“Cēsu Premium” beer is a crisp, perfectly balanced and easy-drinking lager-type beer. “Cēsu Premium Green” is a gluten-free beer that has a light, refreshing, persistent taste, with an unobtrusive hop bitterness in the aftertaste. The basis of the “Brūža Rudzugraudu” beer recipe is rye grain kvass malt, which gives the beer the popular kvass taste, with a very light hop note. “POOKA Apiņots Lagers” is a classic lager beer, which is made interesting by American Chinook and Mosaic hops – they are added both during boiling and dry hopping, which makes this beer fruity and refreshing.
The World Beer Awards is a worldwide competition that honors the best of all internationally recognized beer styles. Based on the experience of more than 200 international judges, the World Beer Awards ensures that every beer is professionally judged. More about the contest: www.worldbeerawards.com/
