Cēsu alus continues the tradition and creates special porter beer recipes every year during the winter season. This year’s most notable novelty is Cēsu Premium Baltic Porter – a classic porter variety from the Baltic Sea region with a full and rich taste. Cēsu Premium Baltic porter is characterized by a dark copper color and thick foam, in the rich taste and smell you can feel notes of roasted caramel with a light, porter-specific hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. Cēsu Premium Baltic Porter is filled in a champagne-type 0.75 l bottle. The beer is brewed in limited quantities and only 12,000 bottles will be available for sale.

Every year we develop a variety of porter flavors and create something special for the holiday season, offering both more classic porter varieties and experimenting with exclusive flavor variations. This year we have created three porters for beer lovers – Brūža beer plum porter, Cēsu Premium gingerbread porter with Christmas characteristic gingerbread flavor, as well as the exclusive Cēsu Premium Baltic Porter, with a very pleasant, full taste. The end of the year is a festive time that we celebrate with our loved ones, so we have chosen a special 0.75 l bottle of champagne for this porter – Cēsu Premium Baltic Porter can be shared with friends, added to the festive table or given as a gift when visiting.
Baltic porter is a type of dark beer or porter that began to be produced in the Baltic countries and Scandinavia around the 18th century. Baltic porter differs from traditional English porter in terms of brewing technology – traditionally, top-fermenting yeasts are used in the preparation of porter beer, while bottom-fermenting yeasts are used in the preparation of Baltic porter. Porter beer is a dark beer, its color can vary from dark brown to distinctly black. The taste of porter is rich – you can feel the taste of caramel, coffee, chocolate and bitter hops.
